 1.- What is PIR-ALU?

 

-The pre-insulated PIR-ALU panel is a sandwich-like panel consisting of 2 sheets of pure aluminium embossed with an insulated interior of Polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam.

 

2.- Where are PIR-ALU panels used?

 

-They are used for air ducts distribution in ventilation, heating and air-conditioning systems (HVAC).  

 

3.- What is the product called?

-PIR-ALU Pre-Insulated Aluminium Panels.

 

4.- What is de system called?

 

-PIR-ALU Pre-Insulated Aluminium Ducts.

 

5.- How big are the PIR-ALU panels?

-The panels measure 3.000mm x 1.200mm. (see "panel")

 

6.- How thick are the PIR-ALU panels?  

 

-Here are two different thicknesses, 20 and 30mm.

-Thickness selection depends on the type of ducting being constructed.

-Small to medium sections 20mm.

-Medium to large sections 30mm. (see "panel")  

 

7.- How are the PIR-ALU panels packaged?

-The panels that are 20mm thick and 3.000mm long come in packs of 12.

-The panels that are 30mm thick and 3.000mm long come in packs of 10. (see "panel")

-All come packaged in a strong cardboard.  

 

8.- Do they comply with industry standards?  

 

-They comply with the strict standards adhered to in Spain as such, the majority of countries worldwide. (see "certificates")

-PIR-ALU panels also meet the strictest international standards, including ASHRAE, SMACNA, British Standard, and prCEN/TCI 156/WG 3N207 (UE).  

 

9.- How difficult is it to build ducting using the PIR-ALU panels?

 

-The system of construction is revolutionary and very straightforward.

-It is more a case of assembling rather than constructing the ducting.

-It's almost as easy as DIY. (see "manual")

-The important thing is to follow and maintain the basics of the system. (see "manual")

 

10.- What are the PIR-ALU system basics?  

 

-To construct ducts of 3.000mm long, always assemble the 4 sides separately, independent of their shape or size. -These sides are called STRIPS. (see "manual")  

 

11.- What are the advantages of the PIR-ALU system?  

-Air quality: air is only ever in contact with aluminium. (IAQ)

-Excellent insulation: Thermal conductivity coefficient = 0.025 W/m.k. (see "panel")

-3.000m long ducting: fewer cross section joints and therefore faster construction and installation.

-Completely sealed: all joins sealed from within with glue and silicone.

-Weight +/- 1.5kg/m2 . Less supports needed and therefore less work and materials required.

-Resistance: light but robust.

-Four sided ducting easily standardised sizes and pieces. (see "manual")

-Able to be constructed directly on site.

-Minimum tools: only 2 specialised tools required. (see "manual")

-Minimum waste: Maximum use and control of materials.

13.- Who can install them?  

 

-Any tradesperson with basic experience in installations or construction.  

 

14.- What do you need to work with the PIR-ALU panels?  

 

-A couple of very practical, economical and efficient tools.

-With these tools you can put together any piece of the ducting or any type of duct. (see "manual")  

 

15.- Where can the panels PIR-ALU be used?  

 

-In any type of installation; commercial, residential, industrial or in hospitals and medical centres.

-Both in the interior (panel of 20mm thickness) and on the exterior (panel of 30mm thickness) of buildings. (see "references")

 

16.- Where can't the panels PIR-ALU be used?  

 

-As extractors in kitchens, as chimneys for smoke or chemical laden smoke.

-As transportation for solids.

-Outside the temperature range of -30ºC and +80ºC.

-Air speed >15m/sg.

-When the negative or positive pressure inside a duct is:

                     20mm thick panel: >1.000Pa

                     30mm thick panel: >1.400Pa

 

17.- How much will it cost?
